PAST & UPCOMING EVENTS - 2015 - 2018
On April 19th -24th 2015, a delegation of senior business and government officials from the Kingdom visited Ottawa and Toronto. The delegation met with senior government leaders from all three levels of government in Canada as well as senior business leaders across the country. The delegation took the first steps towards the formation of a Canada Saudi Business Council.
UPCOMING EVENTS - 2018 QTR 1 & 2
On April 25th to 30th 2016 we lead a record delegation of 70 SME businesses and officials from Canada to visit the Kingdom and attend The 1st Saudi Canada SME Business Forum in Riyadh, held at the Council of Saudi Chambers, which was organised by the Saudi Canadian Business Council. The Forum consisted of a total of 250 Canadian and Saudi SMEs with an interest in engaging in Trade and Investment between the two countries.
Our Council led the largest trade delegation in Canada Saudi history in April of last year.
They had the pleasure of leading a delegation of 70 SME businessmen down to Riyadh for 5 days where they experienced trade and investment symposiums, B2B meetings as well as a cultural visit to the old town of D'iriyah.
The forum consisted of discussions where Canadian and Saudi speakers engaged in discussions on the overall state of the economy. This was followed by several B2B meetings between Canadian and Saudi companies.
The Canada Saudi Business Council had the privilege of hosting a Saudi delegation from the Deputy Ministry of Mineral Resources and Ma'aden in March of this year. They also attended special VIP dinners and awards.
The delegation had the pleasure of meeting with several of the entities at PDAC including the Executive director and other key players in the Canadian Mining Industry. This was followed by several B2B meetings with Canadian mining companies in several niche sub-sectors.
We are pleased to announce that a large delegation of Saudi Businessmen and Government Officials arrived in Toronto and Montreal between March 27th and 31st 2017. The delegation consisted of 40 Saudi Industrialist, entrepreneurs and senior government officials covering multiple sectors. The Councils are following up from the event in 2015 with a committed interest in furthering trade and investment between the two countries.
The Canada Saudi Business Council had the distinct honor of having Mayor John Tory open the forum in Toronto as well as having Federal Minister for Small Businesses - Maxine Bernier say a few words of welcome to our distinguished guests.
They also had the pleasure of meeting with Ontario Minister Coteau, Minister Duguid, Minister Gravelle and Minister Moridi for discussions on Ontario and Saudi relations.
The forum consisted of Panel discussions where Canadian and Saudi speakers engaged in discussions on the Healthcare, Mining, Oil & Gas, Finance and Manufacturing sectors. This was followed by several B2B meetings between Canadian and Saudi companies.
